For every woman after birth!
We don’t talk enough about how exposed we feel after giving birth, not just physically, but emotionally. Our bodies have done something extraordinary, yet the world, and often our partners, expect us to “bounce back,” to be grateful, to be strong, to carry on. What no one prepares us for is how thin the walls around our hearts can feel during that first year.
We are learning a new version of ourselves, reinventing who we are while caring for brand-new humans. We can love our babies deeply and still feel lost, overwhelmed, or lonely. We can be grateful and exhausted at the same time. None of that makes us weak; it makes us honest.
Vulnerability after birth isn’t a flaw; it’s a sign of how much we care. Our nervous systems have been stretched, our identities reshaped, our emotions laid bare. Some days we feel powerful. Other days we feel like we’re barely holding it together. Both belong here.
Let us remember we don’t have to carry this quietly. We deserve softness, patience, and support just as much as our babies do. Healing isn’t linear, and strength doesn’t mean doing it alone. We are allowed to rest, to ask for help, to cry, and to not have all the answers yet.
New Mums London is launching in March 2026 a new blog: New Mums Confessions - where every mum can share her own journey, challenges, and happy moments, without taboos. It’s a space where real mums can read, relate, and comment. This is about empowering each other, because together, we are stronger!
We are not broken.
We are becoming.
It takes time, healing, and belief.
